How to handle bad press & online negativity about your company.

Are people saying negative things about your company, products, or services online or in the media? If so, then this is a blog post and video that you’re definitely going to want to see.

Whether the negativity is coming from a hungry reporter at a news station eager to write a controversial story to get their name on the map or whether it’s coming from some lonely disgruntled rep who used to work with your company, but then quit and decided to write a “tell all” about why it’s the company’s fault that they failed…

The fact of the matter is, you can Google just about anything and find someone saying something negative about it, and just because it’s on the internet, doesn’t make it true.

I mean let’s be real here, you can Google any big company’s name, “America”, or even “Jesus” and find plenty of people willing to say an abundance of negative things.

In fact, I posted this image to my Facebook page couple of weeks ago about haters, and I think this image sums up this point well.

Unfortunately, when you’re out there building your business, your prospects will stumble on this negative press and sometimes use it as an excuse to not join.

Or the reps on your team may use it as an excuse to quit. I’ve experienced this first hand more times than I could possibly count.

I’ve had new people sign up as customers and reps and be excited out of their minds one day, only to call me the next day ready to quit because of something they read or saw online that scared them and caused them to question their decision.

When things like that happen, it can certainly be discouraging and make you want to throw in the towel and quit yourself.

However, before you decide to quit, potentially abandoning a really great opportunity, I highly recommend you watch this video first, and if you have any teammates, I’d recommend you have them do the same.
