Never Let Anyone Be Hungrier Than You!

At 21 years old, I was what you would consider your stereotypical “broke college kid”. I was working a GNC store in the mall selling vitamins and supplements part-time, going to school full time, and I had an internship working at a coliseum as an event coordinator.

Don’t ask me how I did it all, to this day I still don’t even know. All I knew is I grew up broke all my life and I wanted to grow up to be successful after I graduated college… so I hustled.

Successful to me at that time in my life meant making around $30,000 a year. So imagine my surprise when a GNC customer I was extra cool to told me how impressed he was with me, asked me if I kept my options open to other opportunities, and then days later showed me that there were people working with his company making over $30,000 per MONTH!

As soon as I found out that the opportunity was legit and these people weren’t paid actors, I said to myself…

“Okay Cesar this could be your big shot, and what you’ve been praying for your whole life, don’t F%*k it up.”

I got started with that company and then proceeded to be one of the all time worst reps to ever join and work with that company… or at least I felt like I was.

I had no skills, no credibility, no influence, and I didn’t have a strong network of contacts or business connections. All great excuses I could have easily used to fold up shop, quit, and play the blame game.

I felt like a 21 year old nobody, who looked like a 17 year old high school kid. I’ve always looked young for my age and back then it wasn’t something I was particularly excited about because I wanted people to look older and more business-like.

Believe it or not I thought that was the missing piece I needed to become successful and one of those people who was making over $30,000 a month.

I thought that in order for me to able to succeed I needed to look like, dress like, and talk like those people I had met who were making all that money and that looked up to.

However, that would’ve been pretty impossible to do considering they were all older than me professional looking, sharply dressed, and seemed to have all of the advantages I didn’t have… Age, looks, contacts, credibility, etc.

I seemed to be the total opposite of them and had a lot of things that most people would consider disadvantages, however, I did have one thing going for me that was a major advantage…

“I was hungry for success! Scratch that, I was starving for it!”

And what I’ve learned since then is that’s literally the biggest advantage you can have in business and in life and that’s the one major prerequisite you need to have if you want to become successful. You gotta want it!… Bad!

Napoleon Hill in his book Think and Grow Rich, calls it a “Burning Desire” and he says it’s the #1 thing you must have in order to be successful in any endeavor.

To me “hunger” is the catalyst that sets forth into motion everything else that you need to have to be successful in anything. It’s the one thing that turns average people into superstars.

If you’re truly hungry for success then you’ll have the motivation and drive to get everything else that you may not have yet, that you’ll need to succeed.

If you’re hungry, then you’ll chase down opportunities and the people who have them. When you’re hungry for success, if there’s a skill you need to learn to achieve it, you’ll figure out how to develop it.

One of my favorite self made quotes and the reason I never chase people I offer opportunities to. I’m looking for people who want to chase me. I’m looking for winners.

You’ll crack open books, watch how-to videos, listen to personal development audios, go to seminars, buy courses, seek out mentors and do whatever you have to do to develop the skills you need to succeed.

If you’re truly hungry you’ll have the motivation to hustle hard, and do whatever it takes to reach your goals.

Back in my early 20’s I didn’t have many skills, but I was hungry with a massive burning desire so I figured out everything else.

In the video below you’ll hear my advice to you if you want to achieve massive success in anything you do, be the top gun in your market or industry, and beat the pants off of people more talented than you who have way more advantages than you do now…

You becoming successful isn’t going to be necessarily determined by the skills you have today, it’s going to be determined by your hunger and how bad you want it!

Personally, I went from being a 21 year old broke college kid, to becoming one of those people I once looked up to who earns over $30,000 a month. Now those of you that know me, know for a fact that I make far more than that per month today, but the bottom line isn’t about what I’m making today…

The bottom line is what I did in the past to get where I’m at today and how you can do the same and replicate the type of success I’ve had in my life in yours, regardless of your current age, skills, experience, contacts, or credibility.

And what I’m telling you for a fact, beyond a shadow of a doubt, the main advantage you can make up your mind to have right now, that I had going for me that allowed me to get to where I am today was that I was hungry as hell!

And the good thing about that is anyone, regardless of where you’re at today, can make up their mind to be hungry, just like I did. It’s nothing more than a mindset. But if you really wanna step it up and take things to the next level, my best advice in one simple sentence would be this…

Never let anyone be hungrier than you!
